ILI Physical Therapists (PT, DPT, RPT) are responsible for the assessment and evaluation of patient care needs related to functional status/mobility, endurance/stamina, pain and other medical conditions. Based on this assessment and evaluation, our Physical Therapists work to help determine a treatment plan, perform interventions to improve and enhance the patient's well-being, and evaluate the patient's progress.

Essential Functions
  • Completes all patient evaluations and develops the PT plan of care within state guidelines and in coordination with the physician and other members of the healthcare team.

  • Visits patients according to the plan of care and documents each visit per ILI Therapy Staffing policy. 

  • Provides services within the scope of practice as defined by Massachusetts state laws, in accordance with the plan of care.

  • Observes and reports the patient's response to treatment and any changes in his/her condition to the supervising nurse and/or the physician.

  • Treats patients to relieve pain, develop and restore function, and/or maintain maximum functioning using acceptable standards of practice.

  • Instructs and informs participating members of the health care team, the patient, and the family/caregivers regarding the plan of care, functional limitations and progress toward goals.

  • Participates in staff conferences and committees as necessary.

  • Provides supervision of the PTA per ILI Therapy Staffing policy.

  • Adheres to ILI Therapy Staffing Standards of Practice in provision of services to all patients.

  • All other duties as assigned.

 
License Requirements
  • Current Massachusetts Physical Therapy license 

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program

  • Current CPR certification

  • Current Massachusetts driver's license and vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle.

 
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift, turn and transfer patients weighing up to 200 pounds

  • Must be able to carry bundles upstairs weighing up to 10 pounds

  • Must be able to stoop and bend

  • Must be able to travel to prospective patients place of residence

  • Must be able to hear and speak in a manner understood by most persons
