Full-time and per diem positions in Greater Boston and the Merrimack Valley


ILI Occupational Therapists (OTR/L) are responsible for the assessment and evaluation of patient care needs related to functional status/mobility, endurance/stamina, pain and other medical conditions. Based on this assessment and evaluation, our Occupational Therapists facilitate the development and rehabilitation of patients with mental, emotional, and physical disabilities by planning and administering medically prescribed occupational therapy.

Essential Functions
  • Completes all patient evaluations and develops the OT plan of care within state guidelines and in coordination with the physician and other members of the healthcare team.

  • Visits patients according to the plan of care and documents each visit per ILI Therapy Staffing policy. 

  • Provides services within the scope of practice as defined by Massachusetts state laws, in accordance with the plan of care.

  • Observes and reports the patient's response to treatment and any changes in his/her condition to the supervising nurse and/or the physician.

  • Evaluates the patient's ADLs and IADL abilities and their need of support services such as HHA.

  • Supervises the HHA plan of care (in accordance with state/federal requirements) and documents as appropriate. 

  • Establishes goals based on the client's current level of functioning and potential for improvement. 

  • Instructs and informs participating members of the health care team, the patient, and the family/caregivers regarding the plan of care, functional limitations and progress toward goals.

  • Participates in staff conferences and committees as necessary.

  • Provides supervision of the COTA per ILI Therapy Staffing policy.

  • Adheres to ILI Therapy Staffing Standards of Practice in provision of services to all patients.

  • All other duties as assigned.

License Requirements
  • Current Massachusetts Occupational Therapy license 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program

  • Current CPR certification

  • Current Massachusetts driver's license and vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift, turn and transfer patients weighing up to 200 pounds

  • Must be able to carry bundles upstairs weighing up to 10 pounds

  • Must be able to stoop and bend

  • Must be able to travel to prospective patients place of residence

  • Must be able to hear and speak in a manner understood by most persons
